Can it really have been a year already? What do they say about time when you have a toddler in the house? "The shortest years of your life, made up of the longest days?" True dat. Let's review:
We started out the year with a January trip to California. A good way to break up the New England winter. We considered leaving Leo there, and think he would have enjoyed it. Especially the beach!
After that there was no living with him.
This year the Easter Bunny brought cousins!
And we had a pre-birthday party complete with Leo's first basketball hoop.
In late April we headed back to Cali, and that is where Leo started walking! The picture below illustrates the rapt attention he pays his Dad at all times.
He's much happier when being carried, or eating cake.
The summer was a whirlwind. We had some visitors and spent some time at the lake, and in July we traveled to Florida for a Coughlan family reunion, where Leo got acquainted with Mickey Mouse.
After the lake, a wading pool is cold comfort.
Then in August we headed to Maryland for a Fromm/Shinholster family trip to the Pirate Pool and the Maryland shore.
In September, David and his college roommates participated in The Great Josh Billings Runaground, a team triathlon, and David carried Leo across the finish line for this photo finish.
A couple weeks later, we drove down to Washington, D.C., where Leo shook his money maker at Jen's cousin Emily's wedding reception. He's available for parties. The pajamas cost extra.

October and November were fairly quiet, but not without their charms.
